Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

2FA provides better security than a password alone by requiring that any person attempting to log in to your account has access to a secret 2FA code managed by any TOTP-based 2FA app, such as Google Authenticator or Authy. The secret code changes every 30 seconds, and only your 2FA app and Motion will know the correct code every time it changes.

Keep in mind:

  • Once you enable 2FA, you will need your 2FA app handy to access the secret 2FA code any time you log in to Motion

  • If you lose access to your 2FA app (e.g. if your smartphone with the 2FA app is lost or stolen), you will not be able to log in without contacting Motion support

  • 2FA is not a replacement for a password; you will still enter your password every time you log in, just before being prompted for the 2FA code

  • Ensure you have updated any iOS or Android app installations to latest versions

To enable or disable 2FA, click on "Security" in the left navigation pane in the Motion Platform web app or mobile app.
