Clearing/Acknowledging Alarms

Methods for Managing Alarms

There are several views in which you can clear/acknowledge an alarm:

  1. Mosaic Dashboard view

  2. Current Alarms view

  3. Alarm Details view

  4. Auto-clear Alarms (discussed here in other article)

Managing Alarms in Mosaic Dashboard view

Below, we will instruct users on how to manage alarms in the Mosaic Dashboard view.

Step 1: Navigate to Motion App to access Mosaic Dashboard

In the example scenario described below, we are going to be managing alarms for multiple Motion Tiles that have satisfied alarm conditions and are in an alarm state.

Steps

Scroll through the Apps view to identify appropriate Motion App, or search for the Mosaic App in the search bar on the top right-hand corner

Step 2: Identify Motion Tiles that are in an alarm state

In the Mosaic Dashboard view, any Motion Tile that has satisfied alarm criteria - but has not been cleared - can be easily identified. It is important to note that, regardless of the current alarm state of the Motion Tile, the alarm details will be logged at the time the alarm was triggered. Unless the alarm is cleared by a user, you will see the following buttons at the top right hand corner of the individual Motion Tile:

  1. Unacknowledged (lime green box)

  2. Acknowledged (light blue box)

Acknowledged

An acknowledged alarm will always contain a GOLD "acknowledged" button at the top right-hand corner of that Motion Tile. This indicates that the user has manually acknowledged that the alarm satisfied alarm criteria. The user, however, has yet to clear the alarm. Therefore, the GOLD "Acknowledged" button will still appear on this Motion Tile until the alarm is cleared.

To clear this alarm, click the GOLD "acknowledged" button to open a pop up menu

Click the "Clear Alarm" option within the pop-up menu

Unacknowledged

An unacknowledged alarm will always contain a RED "unacknowledged" button at the top right-hand corner of that Motion Tile. This indicates that the user has yet to acknowledge that the alarm satisfied alarm criteria. The user also has yet to clear the alarm. Therefore, the RED "unacknowledged" button will still appear on this Motion Tile until the alarm is cleared.

In the "Current Alarms" view, you will have the ability to view every single Motion Tile (regardless of the alarm state) that has satisfied alarm criteria and has NOT yet been cleared. Click the "View Details" button This will direct users to the "Alarm Details" view, which gives users a breakdown of in-depth alarm details for that tile

Step 3: Locate and click the "Acknowledged" or "Unacknowledged" button

At the top right-hand portion of this view, users will see a window for the current state of the alarm. In the example scenario below, we are going to manage the alarm for condenser loop supply temperature.

The current state of this Motion Tile, as indicated by the user-configured color combination of the tile (white/black), reflects that the tile is no longer in a critical or warning alarm state. If the tile is in a critical state (high or low), the color of the tile would appear RED. If the tile is in a warning state (high or low), the tile would appear GOLD.

Regardless of the current state of the tile, this alarm has yet to be acknowledged or cleared. Therefore, you will see a RED unacknowledged button at the top right-hand corner of the tile (similar to Mosaic Dashboard view).
